Your Dad came from a generation who knew toil, sacrifice, humility, grace, and gratitude in their true forms. Sending you strength and light as you grieve.

Multiple people have told me to take as much time as I need, so I start a 6 week leave from work tomorrow to care for my dad while we get him settled elsewhere. So that’s my advice, take as much time as you need to do what you need to do. Take care, sir.

I understand your Dad's fascination with WW2. I was born in 1948. As a boy we were surrounded by veterans and relics and memories of war. My late father and father in law both served overseas and I envied their young years. And butter with everything? Here in NZ we encourage that, it's one of our biggest exports. My condolences too, for your families loss.
